The Ongoing Motorcycle Project

My 2000 Suzuki Intruder has turned into an ongoing upgrade project. So far it has the following after-market add-ons:

  • FATTANK 5 gallon tank with aviation-style cap
  • Custom Paint by Black Canyon Custom Paint
  • Suzuki Studded Leather Gel Seat
  • Suzuki Rigid-Mount Saddlebags (studded)
  • Suzuki Billet Oil Filler Cap
  • Suzuki chrome swingarm cover
  • Suzuki Classic Windshield
  • Suzuki Billet Rear Rack
  • Vance and Hines Classics
  • Highwayman Forwards
  • Kuryakin ISO Footpegs
  • Kuryakin ISO handgrips

Installing the Forwards from Highwayman was a project that I undertook myself. It only took a couple hours. Highway provides all the parts you need, including the linkages.

The crash bars and the highway pegs had to be removed, because they would be in the way of the newly positioned brake and shift levers. I find I really don't miss the highway pegs because the new forwards are so comfortable for my 6'1" frame.

Highwayman could not have been more helpful in giving me the information I needed via email. I had decided on the Kuryakin footpegs (to match my handgrips) rather than the ones Highwayman sells with the kit. Highwayman went as far as confirming the part numbers of the connecting hardware I needed to order from Kuryakin.

I really like the finished look.
